Song of Drums and Shakos in the Peninsular war

Song of Drums and Shakos in the Peninsular war

Below are 12 Napoleonic forces for playing Song of Drums and Shakos in the Peninsular war covering forces for British, French and Spanish Guerrillas. all models are 1/72 scale, from HaT or Italeri. The thing I love about the SoDS rules is that the amount of models you need for a 400 point force is small, so I only have to paint a few models each, allowing me to sample different units in the Napoleonic era without having to commit to painting hundreds of the same model for a large-battle ruleset.

The first force, is the French 1st Hussars

The next force actually didn't fight in the Peninsular war! but nevertheless I wanted to paint a small force of French Lancers. These would most likely be the 6th Lancers, but depends on whether you consider the red, 'red', 'scarlet' or 'crimson', it could be the 1st or 4th lancers at a pinch.

The last unit of horses is the British 10th Hussars.

Following on, I have some French Artillery, limbered and unlimbered. I also have an Artillery Caisson for particular scenarios.

Moving on to the infantry, we have some French Legere Voltigeurs.

Next are some regular French Line Voltigeurs.

Finally, for the French, some regular Line infantry. complete with Drummer and flag bearer.

next is a band of Spanish militia

Supporting them are two Guerrilla leaders. Juan Martín Díez also known as 'el empecinado' on foot. alongside Juan Palarea y Blanes also known as 'el medico' on horse.

Next, a second band of Spanish guerrillas. This force also has a priest with a blunderbuss!

Next, some British Infantry, this is a light infantry force. From their facings, they are either a light company of the 47th Lancashire line regiment or part of the 43rd Monmouthshire light infantry.

to pair with them, I have some British line infantry as the 47th Lancashire regiment.

Finally, one can't do the Peninsular war without some 95th Rifles. This force contains options to do regular riflemen as well as some Chosen men.

That's all for now! I have some models to potentially do an additional Spanish guerrilla force, as the Valencia Light Infantry, as well as a team of 47th Lancashire Grenadier company and also a French cart for specific scenarios but for now I think it's time for a break! Thanks for reading.
